The Shoe Edit: Spring Sneakers

The Shoe Edit: Spring Sneakers

In Season Sneakers Have Sprung.

After five months of gray skies, sub zero temps, mounds of snow as far as the eye can see, and a bevy of boots, wool socks, and sweatpants later, we can finally see a light at the end of the tundra tunnel. As the last of the snow piles are melting away and the wind blows a little less harshly, people begin stashing their salt-stained boots away until next season (thank goodness) and begin plotting their spring shoe line up.

I for one, cannot wait to box up my black Timberlands and replace them with a fresh pair of white Air Force 1s and swap out my booties for Birkenstocks. With bright colors, and hopefully even brighter days on the horizon, I've rounded up the best sneakers for spring ranging from high-end designer delights like Miu Miu's Glitter Wave Platform sneakers to Nike's new Air Force 1 Sage Low.

1. For all ya'll that like those super clean sneaks with some sparkle, then these Miu Miu's are the only shoe that you're missing out on this season, until now. Cop 'em here: Miu Miu Glitter Wave Platform Sneakers, $690 at Saks Fifth Avenue.

2. For the city dwellers that spend hours walking across the city streets and are also into the normcore fashion trend, the Reebok Aztrek are you new best friend. Reebok Aztrek Black & White Sneakers, $80 at Asos.com

3. One of the all-time classic Nike styles that will never go out of fashion whether it's spring, summer, winter, or fall got an UPgrade, literally. The Air Force 1 Sage Low has all your favorite features of the traditional AF1, but with an extra inch or two. Plus, the platform sole just looks cooler. Nike Air Force 1 Sage Low Sneaker, $100 at Nike.com

4. Every female sneaker lover probably has an iteration of Comme Des Garcons Play sneakers in their rotation, but the addition the polka dots on these high-tops really set it off. Comme Des Garcons Play Women's Chuck Taylor '70s Canvas Sneaker, $135 at Barneys.com

5. Probably the most "spring" like shoe of the bunch given it's pale and pastel lavender-ish hue, and the creative use of mixed media including leather, mesh, and suede make for a shoe that feel as pretty as it looks. Nike Airmax 97 Leather, Suede, and Mesh Sneakers, $170 at Net-a-Porter.com

6. For a clean pair of all white trainers that lend a bit of functionality to fashion, I'm obsessed with Zara's Tread Sole Sneakers. The shoe boasts different textures and patterns with just the right amount of geriatric vibes. Zara Tread Sole Sneakers, $69.90 at zara.com

7. Is there anything better than monochromatic pink? The answer is no, which is why I can't get enough of these bright Acne Studios Drihanna Logo Sneakers. Acne Studios Drihanna Sneakers, $430 at Shopbop.com
