Oiistar

Oiistar, the name itself has a nice ring to it, fortunately Oiistar on Milwaukee Avenue in Wicker Park has the food to match. Known for their ramen, which is hand made in house, is as delicious as one could imagine a starring act to be. The menu item that really steals the show though, the buns.

Warm little pillows that cradle quality ingredients and an abundance of flavor. My personal favorites are the tempura shrimp with tiger shrimp, thai chili mayo, fennel slaw, and roasted sesame and the pollo with spicy barbecue chicken, scallion, kochujang sauce, cilantro and onion. The duck breast with micro wasabi and golden raisin jalepeno chutney definitely comes in a cool third place. Every bun is sure to please any palette and the petit size makes it easy to down three or four for sure.

Given the convenient location of this place in relation to me, this has definitely become a neighborhood go-to for myself, where I find myself craving it at least a couple times a week. Go in for the full experience or try and call ahead as they're happy to place to-go orders, the buns travel better than one would think.
