Chicago Pizza and Oven Grinders is a little underground pizza place located in the quaint neighborhood of Lincoln Park. They are particularly famous for the oven grinder subs and their pizza pot pies. With a 45 minute wait, my friends and I were eager to be seated and start our dining experience. We all got the Pizza Pot Pies, and I got mine vegetarian with extra "doorknob" mushrooms. The Pizza Pot Pie is a bowl layered with cheese then sauce and toppings and then topped with dough and baked. When served they flip the bowl upside down, and then you have your very own Pizza Pot Pie. We got fresh bread and an antipasto platter to start and their famous Ice Cream for dessert. Be prepared to bring cash, as this entire restaurant is a cash only business. Located at 2121 N Clark Street, this is a for sure stop in Chicago if you want quality food, pizza, and service.
