Cusco: San Pedro Market
The San Pedro market of the ancient inca city of Cusco, Peru is a locals market that offers everything from textiles, to toys, to spices, meats, fish, and foods of all kinds. It is an open air market where locals go to dine, shop, and enjoy themselves with an atmosphere that makes you feel that if you are there, you are local. The smells of meat mixed with spices, and the benches are filled with hungry peruvians getting the best authentic meal at the most inexpensive price. Some of the traditional dished served in the market are Arroz con Huevos, Pollo Caldo, and Chicharons. This is one of several posts on my journey throughout South America so stay tuned.
